T.S. Arthur letters, 1846-1880.

The collection contains eight letters. Arthur writes to Mr. Colman (probably the New York publisher Samuel Colman), 6 Mar. 1846, trying to arrange a deal to sell books; five letters (with envelopes) to Dr. T.C. Adam, 1852-1855, arranging to pay him for contributing editorials to the Home gazette, explaining his editorial policy, and discussing various matters of business as well as describing his health problems; to S.A. Kingman, 30 Jan. 1864, giving his autograph; and to Sarah Bridges Stebbins, 18 Feb. 1880, saying her name will be included with her story and rejecting another submission. One of the letters to T.C. Adam is written on the Office of Arthur's Home Magazine stationery featuring subscription information on the verso. Another letter to T.C. Adam is written on an advertisement for books published and for sale by J.W. Bradley of Philadelphia. Several of Arthur's books are listed.
